Hi, I'm Dawn.

WA born and bred; I have been a resident of Rockingham for around 30 years.

I am best known for my advocacy work with a ten-plus year history in campaigning and advocating for the local community and environmental issues including Hands Off Point Peron Inc., Cape Peron Coastal Park, and Save Rockingham’s Little Penguins volunteer community campaigns.

In 2019, I made the decision to run for local council as I felt that I had much to contribute to the local government space.

I was elected to Rockingham Council in 2021 and have served as a Council representative on several committees including Rockingham Lakes Regional Park Advisory Committee, Cockburn Sound Management Council, Seniors Advisory Committee (Deputy Chairperson), Planning and Asset Services Committee and a member of the Metropolitan Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel, Coastal Facilities Advisory Committee, WALGA South Metropolitan Zone and the newly formed Environmental Advisory Committee (Chairperson), which is a new committee that I lobbied for, prior to my election to Council in 2021.

I have completed the Diploma in Local Government which is the highest qualification available to Elected Members and I use that additional knowledge effectively when representing the needs and expectations of residents.

Since being elected to Council in 2021, I have continued to volunteer my time working on my local environmental advocacy campaigns as well as serving my community effectively in my role as an Elected Member of the City of Rockingham. It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve my community.

My current term on Council ends in 2025 where I plan to run for Council again and hopefully get to continue to serve the community I love.
