TAKE ACTION NOW

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Our Little Penguins need PEOPLE POWER. They need ordinary concerned citizens like you to help by SPEAKING UP on their behalf.

DONATE TO OUR CAMPAIGN

We need your financial support!

to amplify the message of this campaign!

We’ve lobbied our politicians, we’ve rallied with our community, we’ve advocated through petitioning, letters and media. However, we realised it’s just not enough.

We need urgent action NOW and action that is brave, noisy and relentless – until our goal to recover, protect and conserve our Penguins realised.

It’s extremely difficult for important messages like this to cut through – we can’t do this on our own – so we need financial support to help amplify this campaign.

We ask for your support today to not only donate to this campaign, but to encourage others to support you to fundraise for this campaign, so that we can together continue this fight.

We’ve got some more work to do but knowing we have your support – we’re ready to take it next level!

SIGN OUR PETITION

Lobby decision makers into taking action!

This online petition has been set up to lobby decision makers to take action to address the alarming decline in penguin numbers.

The petition calls on the WA Premier Roger Cook and the WA Minister for Environment Reece Whitby to direct the Depertment for Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DCBA) to update the Shoalwater Marine Park Management Plan, and develop and implement a science-based recovery plan for the little penguins as a matter of the utmost urgency.

Please sign today to urge the WA government to take action and share with your networks for our best chance of saving our penguins.

MAKE SOME NOISE

To help you create awareness of this important issue, we’ve created some key messages that you can insert into your letters and emails or use as discussion points with elected members, Ministers, and others in the community. It’s important to add to these key messages with your perspective and the impact that this issue has on you and/or your family and friends.

OUR KEY MESSAGES

Download these key messages to help you express your concerns

Write a letter or an email to the politicians outlining your concerns. Politicians are required to respond to individual responses and communications.  It’s important to include your personal perspective and impact. Key messages are available to guide what to write in your email/letter.

Meet with your local elected member. Make your voice heard with our local politicians – they work for you! Give their electorate offices a telephone call and ask to meet with them and discuss with them your concerns.

Write to your local newspaper or news outlet. The Sound Telegraph and the West Australian both have letters pages and want to hear from their readers about the issues that matter to them. Decision makers also read these pages, especially politicians and their staff. Letters to the editor usually require your full name, address, phone number and your signature to be included (you can request some details to be withheld for publishing).

Engage with our social media and YouTube videos. React, Comment and Share our videos and social media (Facebook and Instagram) campaign posts to your network. You can also keep an eye on media outlets’ social media platforms and add your voice in a comment there.

@ or tag politicians to your posts and use the hashtag #SaveRockinghamsLittlePenguins
